Working up an appetite!

This camper won the mystery plant contest and the prize was a portrait by artist Don Altemus, father of Camp Director Jeff.

Artist at work.

Two originals!

Dave Sapienza challenged the camp to attend an optional 6:30 AM bird walk, a full hour before the usual bird walk AND without the pre-walk hot chocolate. As you can see there was a great turn out! These 6 staff members and 19 campers ended the walk with 41 species on the bird list.

The reading of the bird list - a morning ritual.

Dave was challenged to "Ride a broom around the room". After some coaxing, he did so - with gusto!

Staffers relaxing and reading the Bird'e Eye camp newsletter during FOB (Flat-on-Back) period.

Bill Grafton, WVU Extension Service gives a workshop on tree uses, history, folklore and indentification.

Campers and staff gather round as Bill talks about the Cottonwood Tree, an unusual species to find at Camp.

Fixing a hot meal on a hot day.

Getting ready for the burgers, potato salad and corn.

It's always fun to celebrate a campers birthday.

Let the feast begin!
